- Why are printers so frustrating?
- We ask ourselves the same question all the time. While things are getting better, printers tend to be one of the peripherals that cause the most frustration for our customers. Part of this is because manufacturers don't design them nowadays to last long. The other detail is that some brands simply work better than others. We can help you find a printer that is low cost to operate, as well as unlikely to break. You can find a good printer even on a small budget.
- What printer do you recommend?
- Inkjet printers are the bane of our existence. They are costly to operate, cheap to manufacturer, and also.... unreliable! We recommend laser printers. For most users black and white is the right fit. If color is important to you, then we still recommend a laser printer, although the cost is higher up front you reap tremendous value and savings over time.
- Should I use my printer wirelessly?
- Only if you have to. If wired is an option, we recommend wired. My mom actually just pulls her printer out when she needs it and puts it away when she is done. This saves space, lets her use a laptop, and she also can have the guarantee that it will always work. Wireless printing tends to be the most error prone.
